Time Gates helps a household manage screen time, tasks, and allowance. This notice describes the current testing version.
Information Time Gates stores
Time Gates stores household and child profiles, device names and identifiers, time zones, schedules, app-group choices, usage totals, requests and grants, task completions, and allowance records. Windows usage reports can include app names, publishers, groups, and foreground minutes. Device health reports include connection and protection events.
Time Gates also records which of its features are used, when, and on what kind of device (iPhone, iPad, Windows, Linux or the website), so the people maintaining it can see what helps and what goes unused. These counts name each person only by their place in the household, such as Parent #1 or Child #2, never by name, and carry no app names, website addresses, messages or anything typed. The apps send them in small batches, keeping them while offline. This is part of how Time Gates works and has no separate setting.
Apple app selections use private tokens. Ordinary activity reports do not include executable paths, full website addresses, window titles, keystrokes, or page and message contents.
Optional website tracking stores Windows domain names and daily time totals for seven local dates. It never records URL paths, searches, page titles or content. Turning it off stops new reports; existing totals expire normally. Website tracking and blocking on iPhone and iPad are disabled for now. Parents may separately save domains to block.
Bug reports
When you send a bug report, Time Gates receives your description, the screenshot you preview, optional recorded audio, and app and operating-system versions. Reports can be reviewed by the people maintaining Time Gates. Voice notes may be transcribed using the project's speech-processing service. Avoid including unrelated personal information.
Accounts and access
Parents manage their household and approve device pairing. Children can see their own information and complete their tasks. Authorized operators can access service data to maintain Time Gates and investigate reported problems. Hosting and platform services handle connections, app distribution, and notifications. Connection logs may contain network addresses and request information.
The website uses a sign-in cookie to keep your session connected. Time Gates keeps device credentials to support authentication and recovery. Current Windows builds provide a once-daily offline Safety release without a password. Windows builds before 46 used a parent-held emergency password and kept only its verifier on the child device.
Review and removal
Parents can review account information in the console and remove a child from Account. Removal deletes that child's active profile, devices, usage history, and allowance records. Revoking a device stops its authorized server access. Feedback you send, with its screenshot, voice note and log, is kept on the server until it is removed; error reports a device sends by itself expire after 14 days. Diagnostic copies downloaded for investigation are separate. Household records otherwise remain until removed. This notice does not promise immediate removal from operational backups or downloaded diagnostic copies.
For a privacy question or a request concerning data outside the Account page's controls, use Report a bug in Time Gates and identify the request in the description.
